Continuing Education Credits Policy
1. Overview
Continuing Education (CE) credits are available to licensed Insurance Professionals in Alberta (AB) and British Columbia (BC), as well as restoration contractors holding an Institute of Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification (IICRC) technician number. These credits are earned through completion of specified courses and are valid for a designated period.
2. Eligibility
Alberta – Canadian Insurance Participant Registry (CIPR):
- Individuals with a CIPR number are eligible to earn CE credits.
- CE credits obtained are valid for a period of 2 years.
British Columbia – Insurance Council of BC:
- Individuals registered with the Insurance Council of BC can earn CE credits.
- CE credits obtained are valid for a period of 3 years.
IICRC – Globally Recognized:
- Holders of an IICRC technician number are eligible to earn CE credits.
- CE credits obtained through IICRC courses are valid for a period of 3 years.
3. Qualification Requirements
To qualify for CE credits, participants must:
- Complete the EcoDivert and/or EcoAware courses with a 100% attendance rate.
- Pass the associated exam(s) following course completion.
Upon successful completion of the course(s), participants will receive a certificate indicating their CIPR/license/technician number and the date of completion.
4. Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of participants to:
- Register their earned CE credits with their respective regulatory bodies (CIPR for Alberta, Insurance Council of BC for British Columbia, and IICRC for globally recognized certification).
- Ensure that certificates of completion, including relevant identification numbers, are accurately recorded and maintained.
5. Tracking and Record Keeping
EcoClaim is responsible for:
- Tracking courses completed by participants.
- Maintaining records of certificates awarded to participants.
6. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
