Description
EcoAware is an introductory course on sustainability in business, defining terms and explaining trends in management practices associated with environmental sustainability and climate action.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting as well as climate reporting, are explained, particularly in the context of emerging financial sector (including insurers) greenhouse gas measurement and disclosure requirements.
Key management practices introduced: climate mitigation and climate adaption, and net zero commitments. Learners explore opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the insurance sector, including waste and other claims-related emissions generated by insurers’ suppliers and vendors.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, restoration contractors will be able to:
- Define elements of sustainability & ESG.
- Discuss the importance of measuring & disclosing sustainability performance.
- Explain the greenhouse effect.
- Differentiate between climate mitigation & adaptation.
- Identify Scope 1, 2 and 3 sources of greenhouse gas emissions (GhGs).
- Explain the meaning of Net Zero GhG emissions.
